Sharing because you care

Have you ever thought back to when you came to believe in Jesus?

people talking

I was around 12 and was in the church youth group. Being around others and discussing the life of Jesus gave me an opportunity to see how He was having such a powerful impact on my friends. This environment made it easier to ask questions and gain understanding of why He was here. The curiosity I had is what led me to seek Him, and ultimately give my life to Jesus.

I wish there was a cool story to share about how I was one way and now I’m another, but mine is a simple story about a sinner that was saved, and that’s okay!

You see, the important thing is sharing our story, because someone out there will be changed by it and give their life to Jesus too.

You may be asking yourself; how will my simple story do anything?

It’s the act of sharing your story that has an impact, because it’s a testimony of your faith. People will be curious about how you came to have this faith, and your story will open the door for them to ask you questions.

Many Christians don't believe they are prepared to answer the questions that might be asked, but the reality is you are sharing YOUR story, and who knows your story better than you do?

Will people want more information? We certainly hope so because this allows us to take them on a journey of discovery. Together we can open our bible app and search for answers, it may even become a weekly reason to get together with them. This will also make it more comfortable for you to invite them to your church, and even a bible study group, so they can get more exposure to Jesus.

A simple story that you shared will open the door for Jesus to do what only He can do.

spreading seeds

I wish it worked with everyone we share our story with, but the sad reality is it won’t. However, we just don’t know who it will work with, no matter how well we think we know someone, the only way to know if your story will change their life is to tell it.

Your story plants a seed. Jesus tells us a parable about this (Luke 8:4-8): some will reject it right away, some will be excited to hear but will not learn more, others will ask and seek but later may fall away, yet there are others that will want what you have, and they’ll be saved by Jesus.

Your story is awesome and has the power to change someone’s life! Go and share your story, open the door for someone’s curiosity to ask you questions. And remember, Jesus is right there with you!
