"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
As believers we know this, because it's through this, and only this, that we can experience God's grace... Amen!
I previously wrote about Penn Jillette's (Penn & Teller) comment - "How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?”
That's heavy, we know salvation is ours.... yet we aren't sharing it with the people around us, because we're afraid (if we're being honest, right?). The entire mission around let's make JESUS famous is helping believers push through that fear, because we never overcome it, but we can learn to accept the fear and do it anyway.
Knowing and showing Others
I think it is wise to be prepared to answer common questions people may ask, and to know how to lay out the plan of salvation, because many will ask this too.
When it comes to common questions, think about all the questions you had before coming to Jesus. Many of these questions, and their answers, are embedded in your mind, so with quietness and deep thought you should be able to recall them. If the answers aren't coming then get your bible app out and search for the answers, they are there 😇
Knowing the answer to these questions that you had will prepare you when others ask them, which they will. They'll also ask questions you don't know the answers to, but that's okay, because this provides proof that you're not a "perfect Christian" preaching to them. Show them that you'd like that question answered as well... so get out your bible app and search with them! Offer to download the bible app to their phone for them 😉
ABC's of Salvation
When you're sharing your faith, remember the ABC's and let the Holy Spirit guide you.
Admitting to being a sinner. I also believe it's important to share that we all have sinned and fall short of of God's standards, after all, this is why we need Jesus
Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and came to earth as a randsom for all of us, He died on the cross for our transgressions, was resurrected on the third day, and He ascended back to heaven to be with God the Father.
Call on Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. We do this by inviting Jesus into our hearts and minds, to have His Holy Spirit come into us and guide us.
As believers we can offer to pray all of these things with someone that wants to be saved. When someone has come this far with you, offer to pray with them, because you're helping to bring them salvation.
Some will refuse the offer, it happens, but Jesus will water that seed you planted. Our job is to share the message and then allow Jesus to work in their hearts. Let them know you're there for them when they have more questions, invite them to church, and let them know you'll pray for them.
Jesus said “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14
Some people have a hardened heart towards the gospel, and some allow the conviction of God’s Word to penetrate their hearts. We're called to share the message, that's what Jesus asked us to do, trust Him to do the rest.
We love you all,
